Our Group was featured at the Lake Villa Celebration of Fall on September 12. We got to meet lots of great people who love the lake as much as we do.
Connie, Mike, Alan, Steve, and Kurt became a Bass for the day.
Our giant Bass greeted the crowd
The kids really enjoyed our fishing game.
We want your input! Please click here to take our Angler's Survey!
We are now collecting money to stock the Cedar Lake with fish. We plan to stock the lake this fall with 50 Tiger Muskie, 300 Walleye, and 525 Redear Sunfish. Next year, we plan on stocking more fish which will include Northern Pike and Channel Catfish. The types of fish we have chosen to stock is based on the angler's surveys and the Ilinois DNR and a local hatchery recommendations. Use the informations on this flyer if you would like to contribute to this great cause! We are more than halfway to our goal of raising $5000. You could also email us at: FOCLLAKECOUNTYIL@gmail.com if you would like more information about the fish stocking program.
Long time Lake Villa resident Jim Curtis tells of his 1992 flight over Cedar Lake
In 1992 I flew out of Cambell airport, in Grayslake, Ill, to take aerial shots of Cedar Lake. I did a 360 circle around the lake taking pictures of all sides of the lake. I also took pictures of Lake Villa, The College of Lake County, especially of Willow Lake, Volo Bog and Antioch HS. I wanted to take advantage of the light, so I went up in early morning to take my shots. This image is looking east over Cedar lake towards Deep lake.
Watch this video, which has great drone footage of Cedar Lake and a story of the lake.
Please take our survey! We would like to know what you think about Cedar lake and how you use the lake-even if you just like to admire it from close or from afar. Click Here to Take the Survey about our Lake
